Laser Hair Removal in San Diego

No More Shaving or Waxing!

Laser Hair Removal can permanently reduce unwanted hair on the legs, back, bikini area and chest using light energy to target and destroy the cells responsible for hair growth.

Revive Salon & Spa offers a simple, easy way to permanently reduce unwanted hair using the Vectus Laser treatment. This advanced laser is much faster, less painful and more effective for hair removal than competitor laser hair removal systems.

In the past, a large area, such as the back, would have a treatment time of 90 minutes. It now only takes 15 minutes with Vectus! Small area treatments are approximately two minutes. There usually is no disruption to your normal activities with the procedure.

Vectus has a Diode laser technology, so that hair cells responsible for hair growth are targeted and destroyed without harming the surrounding skin. Sapphire treatment tips with Advanced Contact Cooling help protect the epidermis and help keep clients comfortable throughout treatment, while Photon RecyclingSM and the uniform beam profile allow for the most thorough coagulation of hair follicles — reducing the need for multiple, overlapping passes.

With this treatment, in just a few easy sessions, clients can enjoy clear and silky skin all year round.

The advantages of laser hair removal with the Vectus™ Laser are clear:

  • Excellent long-term results
  • Fast treatment sessions that take only minutes
  • Great for reducing hair from larger areas
  • Comfortable treatments with no downtime

FAQs

Permanent laser hair reduction can remove hair from faces (except around eyes), backs, chests, arms, underarms, bikini lines and legs.

Permanent laser hair reduction is available for all skin types, including very light and very dark skin, and most hair colors. Your provider will determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure based on a variety of factors.

Tanned skin can be treated safely, but always inform your treatment provider if you have been tanning or exposed to the sun within the last three weeks, and he or she will adjust your treatment regime accordingly to give you the safest and most effective experience.

On the day of your treatment, plan on wearing clothing that will allow easy access to the area being treated. Laser hair removal works best when the hair is 1-2 millimeters in length so shave the area to be treated before your appointment.

Generally, some redness will remain for approximately five to seven days. For some patients recovery time will be less while other patients will have prolonged redness.

Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated, however, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs then consult your physician.
To help protect your post-laser skin, keep the area clean and use at least SPF 15 sunscreen when outdoors.

Yes. Pseudofolliculitis is a type of chronic acne disorder caused by ingrown coarse or curly hairs. This disorder affects darker skin types, and the infrared energy delivered by the Sciton laser is the preferred method of treatment.

On average, each laser treatment will be associated with some permanent hair loss. So in most cases hair removal can only be achieved after several treatments. The number of treatments will depend on your individual response to laser therapy, and the amount of hair to be removed. Remember that the goal may not be total hair removal. Many patients are happy with a reasonable degree of hair reduction. Also remember that the hair that remains is often lighter in color and thinner than the original hair prior to laser surgery. As with other treatments for unwanted hair, there is no guarantee that laser hair removal treatment will be permanent.

You may need to be treated about 4-6 times at approximately 5-8 week intervals. There are three phases of hair growth; anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated.

Most patients describe laser hair removal as feeling “prickly,” or like the light snap of a rubber band against the skin. Afterwards, it might feel like a bad sunburn. Each patient has his or her own level of skin sensitivity and pain threshold. Different areas on the body are also more sensitive than others.
